11-YEAR-OLD RARITY FROM
ROYAL FAMILY CELLARS
A dream discovery ... 500 cases of perfectly aged
Malbec found in the cellars of Danish royalty
Yes, you read that right! The fairytale Château de Cayx in
Cahors is the French residence of Denmark’s royal family.
It’s also home to one of our most exciting recent discoveries.
We’ll let our man on the ground, Mark Hoddy, explain ...
“I came across this opportunity when Tony Laithwaite was
visiting a couple of weeks ago. The Danish royal family have
decided to hand the winemaking at the estate to Vinovalie
(who as you know make our Prestige and Mireval). When
sorting the cellars, the team were amazed to find a parcel of
2014 stacked in perfect condition. They gave me first refusal.”
Mark didn’t need asking twice! Cahors is renowned for its
dark, deeply complex Malbecs of immense concentration.
Only after years of ageing do these wines reveal the beauty
and refinement that lies within. Few people get the
opportunity to taste Cahors at its gloriously mature best.
But that’s what you have here. A pure Malbec, aged for 11
years, and layered with silky dark fruit, leather and cocoa.
The price of such a profound wine? Search online and you’ll
see mature Cahors for upwards of £30. But this is yours for
just £13.99 a bottle. A one-off cellar-find of only 500 cases.
Don’t wait, as you won’t get the chance again.
