THE GRANDEST
FRENCH ROSÉ OF ALL
Discover Bandol, the sophisticated pink
tailor-made for fine dining – SAVE 25%
We’ve all fallen for the charms of Provence rosé.
Pale, subtle, glitzy and glamorous. But did you
know that the region produces a rosé which is
so revered in France that we seldom see it here?
Bandol is an enclave within Provence, but
its wine is never considered in the same light.
Because if Provence pink is for making a splash
at soirées, Bandol is the gastronomic rosé given
pride of place at the dinner table. Provence for
party people, Bandol for deep-thinking diners!

Maison Maillet is an absolute classic of the style.
It’s made by the Maillet family, winemakers in
Bandol – a pretty Côte d’Azur port between
Marseille and Toulon – since 1860.
You may have tasted their ‘regular’ rosé, which
is very popular with customers. This is a big step
up. What makes Bandol so good? Firstly, rigorously
selected grapes, all picked by hand, from vines
on steep slopes above the Bay of Bandol. And
Mourvèdre must dominate the blend.
This is the region’s mighty, speciality red grape,
which gives Maison Maillet Bandol its food-friendly,
savoury richness. It also has portions of fruit-filled
Grenache and aromatic Cinsault, all very gently
pressed for that gorgeous colour, vibrant pink
grapefruit and peach flavours and peppery, wild
herb hints. So rich, so complex and divine with
seafood, fish soup especially.
NB Bandol is rarely less than £20 a bottle and
stars like Ott, Tempier and Pibarnon sell for
£35-plus. Snap up Maison Maillet at today’s
launch price of £23 £16.99 a bottle.
