LOUBISSOU ROSÉ, CABRIÈRES
Cabrières is a tiny enclave of five hidden valleys in the
Languedoc, home to the world’s most expensive rosé. There
was a small organic vineyard up for sale – it needed rescuing,
so with help from Partners, we pledged £2 from every bottle
sold to buy it and lease it back to dedicated growers, Lucie and
Brice. The result is this superb rosé, finer we think than any
from Provence and supported by Partners.

CHÂTEAU GUILLEM
DE MONTJUSTIN, CORBIÈRES
This dedicated young couple inherited great vineyards, some
over a century old. While their parents supplied the local coop with grapes, they choose to make this great Corbières in
their tiny, shed-like winery. Using grapes from their oldest
vineyards, all organic, they craft this fabulous, rich red from
Carignan, Syrah and Grenache. Weighty and velvet smooth.

100+ UN VENT DE FOLIE, MAURY
Roussillon lies in the very south of France, on the border of
Spain – a very hot, arid, unforgiving area, but the century-old,
tiny-yield vines of Jean-Charles Duran make this remarkable
dark, intense red. It’s all Grenache from the tiny Maury Sec
appellation, made under Jean-Charles’s house and barrel aged.
So dark, weighty, ripe and rich, yet with freshness and length.

ALTOS R PIGEAGE, RIOJA
Jean-Marc Sauboua is our Trophy-winning winemaker both at
La Clarière and at his own winery in high-altitude Rioja. He
founded Altos in 2006, his aim to make a Grand Cru Classé style
of wine and judging by his four Trophies and 300 Golds, he
has more than succeeded. Altos R Pigeage is his top wine – a
powerful, dense, oak-matured Rioja from superbly sited oldvine Tempranillo and Graciano. A masterpiece of new age Rioja.
