SOUTHERN FRANCE
& THE MIDI
“After Bordeaux, southern France is where Tony
Laithwaite lost his heart. The region has been central
to the company’s wine buying ever since. It’s a rich,
diverse landscape, making every style of wine – elegant
fizz, crisp whites, rich ones too, mineral-fresh rosé and
dark, swarthy reds. That’s thanks in part to its myriad
climates – from coastal Mediterranean, cool mountain
foothills to the sun-scorched, arid plains towards the
Spanish border. Living there means I’m on hand to
discover some terrific gems. Taste a few of them here.”
