Australia’s fruity, sun-filled white
original – now down to just £7.99
The special project Portuguese
red that thinks it’s a Saint-Émilion
Sam Trimboli was the maker of this fab white
when the BBC Good Food programme called
it ‘Aussie sunshine in a glass’. He’s now back
in charge of Yarrunga Field, crafting it from
grapes picked in the cool of night. It’s just
so fresh and bursting with lemon, lime and
stone fruit flavours, and at a gentle 10.5%
alcohol, this is perfect to share over lunch.
To taste, you’d swear this was a classy claret.
Velvety, plush and layered with spiced black
fruit and creamy oak. Well, it is a classic
Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet and Merlot.
And it’s aged in finest French barrels. But it’s
made at a centuries-old Portuguese estate,
from grapes traditionally trodden by foot.

Watch out Spain, there’s a new
nation after your Albariño crown
Need the perfect steak partner?
Uruguayan Tannat to the rescue
Albariño has taken white wine fans by storm.
So fresh, tangy and uplifting. Galicia is its
home, but this belter from South Africa’s
historic Spier estate is really hitting the spot
for customers and staff. Everyone loves
Villa Blue’s mouthwatering peach, melon
and grapefruit flavours. Lovely on its own,
even better with seared scallops or mussels.
If you’re looking for a change from Malbec
with your steak, try Uruguay’s red speciality,
Tannat. This tobacco-scented gem is from
husband-and-wife team Luis Alberto Gimenez
and Marta Mendez and delivers bold, black
fruit flavours that stand up to the juiciest
sirloin. Barrel aged and wonderfully smooth.

Mature New Zealand Chardonnay
that smashes Burgundy for value
Superstar estate’s secret label,
classic claret – SAVE 33%
Superb, mature white from Hawke’s Bay,
New Zealand’s leading Chardonnay region.
Shimmering gold, this barrel-fermented wine
unfurls with aromas of white peach and
custard followed by stone fruit, cashew nut,
vanilla and citrus flavours. Such serious,
mature Chardonnay from Burgundy would
cost a fortune – snap this up while you can.
Our Épiphanie label is reserved for wines
from world-class properties, but where we
can’t reveal the source. So, while this may be
labelled a humble ‘Bordeaux’, the wine inside
is the no-expense-spared claret of a leading
Right Bank estate. Ripe and opulent with
plush black fruit and velvety tannins.
